Back in 2020, our founder, Ethan Rosenstiel was full of ideas. As an 8th grader, Ethan was always coming up with business ideas or the grand thoughts of one day becoming rich. After many "no's" from his parents, reasonably so, the one idea Ethan thought he could get his parents to say yes to would be a charitable event. Even that, his parents told him no, but Ethan decided he was going to move forward with the idea anyways. Ethan was big into sports, and at the time, he was in the middle of hockey season. With that, his idea was to plan a charity hockey game. His parents told him if you are going to do it, ask your friends to help you. At that point, Ethan asked a couple of his friends to plan the event.
Our mission was "Kids Helping Kids" which resulted in the group choosing Big Brothers Big Sisters of Green County as the beneficiary of their Charity Hockey Game. The event went on to be a success. With great support from local business and the hockey community, the event raised $6,000 for BBBS of Green County. The event was such a success, the group decided to do it again next year, but this time calling themselves Move It Forward.
Fast forward many years later, the group is still going strong. Today, our mission is the 'Inspire the Next Generation.' We feel the value in investing in the future of our community by empowering the next generation. Our two flagship events, the Charity Hockey Game and Summer Event are here to stay, and have been around since the beginning. In 2025, we started our very own Scholarship Fund to support graduates with the funds they need to chase their dreams.
You can't tell the story of Move It Forward without mentioning the local community. Over half of the proceeds raised by Move It Forward has donated by our community's businesses, organizations, and families. Not only does our community financially support Move It Forward, but they show up to all of our events and participate in our activities. Our entire organization couldn't be more grateful for our community's support of our mission and goals.
THANK YOU!
